TeXShop historical website archive
Snapshot date: 2026-10-28
Source: https://pages.uoregon.edu/koch/texshop/
Author: Richard Koch, with contributions credited in the original pages.

The 25 archived pages retain the visible text from each original #main element.
The new wrapper replaces the old website navigation and adds provenance notices.
Links to archived pages and the 13 directly linked downloadable files are local.
Other external websites are not mirrored; their links retain the original destinations.
Download sources, recovery locations, sizes, and SHA-256 hashes are recorded in
manifest.json. Large ZIP files are backed by our historical-downloads GitHub Release
and included in the generated site.
HTML comments and active elements are excluded from the reading pages.
The unmodified source HTML is retained as plain-text files in sources/.

The nine release-note illustrations are stored locally. Where the original image
URL returned HTTP 404, the corresponding image from the TeXShop source distribution's
English help was used. These substitutions are identified in manifest.json.
The manifest records original URLs and SHA-256 hashes for snapshots, images, and downloads.

These documents are historical records. Version numbers, advice, links, and contact
information are not statements about the current release. The archive includes the
History section's seven pages, the original-version/anniversary page, the available
version 2 and version 3–5 release notes, contributors, and translation acknowledgments.
It does not claim a complete release-note record for every version since 2000.

Added About TeXShop, Three TeXShop Versions, and Tahoe, including all inline
images from these pages. Original and anniversary text remains in its original
section order. The index follows the 2000–2024 evolution with the 2025–2026 Tahoe page.

The preservation audit added the combined 2.19–5.57 release notes, including
previously omitted early 2.x and 3.x records, the Golden Gate development report,
and the previous home page and documentation. The two dark-mode proposal files
are preserved as attachments to the Golden Gate report. The standalone sample
project is not mirrored. The additional pages participate in archive search.
Existing archived prose has not been rewritten. The original website CSS and
navigation images are retained in the separate local preservation snapshot.

Two malformed links in the release notes (an e-mail address and the ISO website)
are corrected in the rendered pages. The Translations page retains all fifteen acknowledgments as text,
with external translation links inactive; manifest.json records these changes.
The original HTML in sources/ is unchanged.
