      <name>Scope</name>
      <t>This document defines methodologies to benchmark AI agents performing
network control and management operations, such as:</t>

          <t>Network optimization (e.g., configuration validation, actions adaptation)</t>
        </li>
      </ul>
      <t>The final objective is to propose a benchmarking methodology able to
provide a reproducible and vendor-independent framework to compare AI
agent effectiveness, performance and close loop network operation
capability in controlled network environments when performing
representative control and management actions in the network.</t>
      <t>It is expected the progressive introduction of different AI agents
performing network operations tasks through multi-step interaction
with network systems and management interfaces. Then it is needed to
define a methodology capable to assess the proper performance and
functional behavior of those agents when deployed in real networks.
For instance, avoiding poor performance, inaccurate execution, bias
on the decisions taken, etc.</t>
      <t>The methodology is intended to enable:</t>
      <ul spacing="normal">
        <li>
          <t>Reproducible comparison across AI agents operating on equivalent
network tasks</t>
        </li>
        <li>
          <t>Evaluation of task effectiveness, execution efficiency,
operational robustness, and safety/compliance-related behavior</t>
        </li>
        <li>
          <t>Characterization of agent behavior across deterministic and
perturbed operating conditions</t>
        </li>
      </ul>
      <t>The benchmark results may also provide technical evidence for an external qualification or certification process. Such a process could define an agent certification profile consisting of a set of benchmark tasks, environmental conditions, acceptance thresholds, and validity constraints applicable to a particular network operational context. Certification itself, including the designation of certification authorities, governance procedures, and issuance or revocation of certificates, is out of scope of this document.</t>

isolated from the SUT and treated as part of the test environment.</t>

the benchmark has to be executed multiple times in order to account

To take into account such non-deterministic agent behavior, each benchmark task
