is mentioned here. You can explore the other features and have
a big fun.

Click on "Old" in the root window or "Import", "Save As..."
  button in "File" pulldown menu.

The file selection menu pops up. There is a "file encoding" button
  select the correct encoding.

If you want to save pure text without control characters, push the
  "pure text only" button.

The "Import" can only import text files not image. Images will be
  supported in the future release.

2. To Gif:

Page gif: Whole Page as a graphics
Line gif: One line is a picture

Transparent: Background transparent (Good for constructing Web Page)
Interlace: interlaced picture (Good for constructing Web Page)

3. Input:

Please refer to appropriate cxterm-5.0 docs which comes with
this package.

You can change input encoding among GB, Big5, JIS and KS also.

You can modify the phrase library:
Highlight the phrase that you want to add or remove
	   from the phrase library.

The highlight can be done in only window where GB, Big5,
JIS, or KS phrase is displayed. (e.g. Netscape) You can
very easily increase your phrases library.

4. Color Selection:

You can select 8 colors (including foreground and background)
from hundreds of by clicking "Color Tab..." button in "Color"
  pulldown menu.

5. "Set TTF.." in Print Menu

Since TTF font is huge, the bitmap generated from TTF can be used
instead of TTF strokes to decrease the size of PS file.

You can select to use TTF as a bitmap or a pure TTF in the "Set TTF"
menu. The default is to use them as pure TTF. You can change the default
in the configure file and you can also set them individually in the
  "Set TTF" menu.

If the size of HZ that you print is less than 40, it is better to
  print TTF using Bitmap Format.

Of course, the pure TTF generates better print result for big size HZ.

  The Bitmap size can be 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, or 96.

6. Limitation of HZ size

   Minimum size: 4 pt.
   Maximum size: 999 pt.

8. Auto Save

Auto Save is turned off by default. You can turn it on in the
   configure file.Please refer to chpower.cfg.

9. Crash Recovery

If ChinesePower crashed (it normally does not happen since ChinesePower
is well tested) while you are making change, it will save your
editing file to a crash recovery file.

When you restart ChinesePower , you should open the same file you were
editing and ChinesePower will open a window ask you whether to use the
crash recovery copy.

9. Window size options:

You can specify the initial size option of the edit window
in chpower.cfg. Please refer to chpower.cfg.

10. User defined page size:

text. Otherwise, it only convert the part you high lighted. And you must
have correspond font installed.

There are several convert table files:
	  big2gb.t big2uni.t gb2jis.t jis2big.t uni2big.t
	  big2jis.t gb2big.t gb2uni.t jis2gb.t uni2gb.t

You must put them in the same directory as chpower.cfg.

   ABOUT CONFIGURATION FILE
------------------------------

15. Setup or Modify ChinesePower Configuration File

To have ChinesePower work better for you, you may need to
modify the following configuration files.

The ChinesePower configuration files are
	chpower-3.0/chpower/chpower.cfg
	chpower-3.0/chpower/chpowertab.GB (for GB)
	chpower-3.0/chpower/chpowertab.BIG5 (for Big5)
	chpower-3.0/chpower/chpowertab.JIS (for JIS)
	chpower-3.0/chpower/chpowertab.KS (for KS)

1) File chpower.cfg is fonts and default setting configuration file.

1.1) font definition:

	example: font:s16=ziku16.hbf

	"font:": flag
"s16": font internal name in ChinesePower
(s for Song Ti, 16 for 16 points)
	"ziku16.hbf": HBF font file name

It is recommendded to use the following notations for font internal names:
	"s" for Song Ti
	"fs" for Fang Song
	"h" for Hei Ti
	"hb" for Hei Bian
	"l" for Li Su
	"lb" for Li Bian
	"k" for Kai Ti
	"xk" for Xi Kai
	"w" for Wei Bei
	"ft" for Fan Ti
	"y" for Yuan Ti
	"ya" for Yao Ti
	etc.

	"16" for 16 points, "24" for 24 pt, "56" for 56, etc.

In the internal name of TTF, use the font full name and the size number part
is not necessary.

So that, the file you write with ChinesePower is shown as the same as in
other person's ChinesePower.

*************************************************************************

Attention: the first letter of the font internal name must be lower case.

*************************************************************************

The font definition can commentted out by put "#" before "font:".
					(e.g. "#font:s16=ziku16.hbf")

2) Files chpowertab.xxx are SoftKey definition file
Customized SoftKey Definition:

The softkey is groups of buttons within a window on the screen and
have different labels. They have the same function as a keyboard.

The softkeys are located in the input window. There are two types
of softkeys.

The upper one is called type 1 softkey.
The lower one is called type 2 softkey.

2.1) Type 1 SoftKey

The type 1 softkey is associated with HZ input method. The format of
definition is shown as the following:

	softkey PY
	type1
	begin
	b c ch d f g h j k l m n p q r s sh t v w x y z zh
	a ai an ao ang
	e ei en eng
i ia ian iang iao ie in ing iong iu
	o ou ong
u u: ua uai uan uang ue ui un uo
	* ? -
	end

Explain:

"softkey PY": the name of the softkey.
	      The "softkey" is the flag.
The "PY" is the name and it should be the same as what is shown
in the "Input Method" pull down menu "Options". When different
input methodis selected, corresponding softkey is shown. If a
softkey is not defined for a particular input method,
	      "softkey BASIC" will be used.

"type1"    : Type 1 flag
"begin"    : begin flag
"b c ...." : definition list for buttons
It must be English characters seperatered by space or enter.
	     A string of "0-9,a-Z" defines a button.
Each button is seperated by space.
A group of buttons is seperated by enter.
"end"      : end flag

In type 1 softkey, <-, clear, and Last are always there.

<-: delete previous input.
clear: clear input area.
Last: last selected input

Type 1 SoftKey input goes to input window and make it possible to input
without touching key board.

2.2) Type 2 Softkey

It is almost the same as Type 1. Except that:

o It is associated with "Soft Key" in pull down menu "Options"
o Only one double-byte character/per button can be in the button
  definition list.
o Type 2 SoftKey input goes into the current edit window.

Type 2 Softkey makes frequently used input very easy. You can setup
your own usually input softkey. I have defined USUALLY here and you
can add more.
